Paramount Skydance Set to Remove Approximately 2,000 American Positions – News
Paramount Skydance will begin mass layoffs beginning on 27 October, cutting nearly 2,000 positions in the United States within a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August valued at $8.4bn.
Additional global layoffs are likely, with Paramount Skydance intending to announce all specifics in its third quarter earnings report set for the 10th of November.
Earlier reports stated that Paramount was looking to eliminate from 2,000 to 3,000 jobs by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the company had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.
The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
