I cannot count on three full seasons at Man Utd - Amorim

the United manager

The Manchester United coach - seen receiving consolation after May's continental cup disappointment - states he is happy by the investor's extended support but stressed that tomorrow is uncertain in football.

Manchester United head coach the Portuguese coach feels it's significant Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his extended perspective - but says nothing is certain about the next day in soccer, never mind three seasons.

Through a conversation with a major publication last week, the co-owner stated it might require Amorim a three-year period to produce meaningful results at Old Trafford.

Arriving during a time when Amorim's future has been receiving close inspection after a prolonged run of unsatisfactory outcomes, the statements assisted in calming some of the immediate pressure.

However, talking ahead of the hundredth encounter with historic adversaries the Merseyside club at Anfield, the manager underscored that the future is hard to predict in the beautiful game.

"It is really good to receive that message but he tells me continuously, periodically with words post fixtures - but understand, I realize and the co-owner recognizes, that the sport isn't that predictable," he stated.

"The vital factor is the upcoming match. Regardless of investors, you cannot manage the next day in football."

Chief executive the club executive has acknowledged it has needed significantly extended periods for Amorim to acclimate to the top division following his move from his former club last November than any person expected.

Manchester United have achieved 10 victories in 34 top-flight fixtures under the 40-year-old. They are yet to win back-to-back league wins and didn't complete a matchday this season better than ninth place.

The concerning numbers are stretching belief in Amorim among the Red Devils supporters entering a run of games their club has been awful in for the previous two campaigns.

Amorim said he does not feel the instability internally at their training facility and is adamant nothing compares to the expectation he applies to his players - and in certain ways, he would prefer Ratcliffe to avoid attempting to bring a sense of calm because he is concerned about the impact it could have on the team.

"It's not just a thing that people talk about, I experience it daily," he stated. "It's really good to hear it because it helps our fans to grasp the management know it is going to take some time.

"However simultaneously, I don't like it because it creates an impression that we possess time to resolve issues. I don't wish for that impression in our club.

"The stress I put on the squad or upon myself is so much bigger [versus outside influences]. In the sport, specifically at large organizations, you have to show yourself each weekend."
