Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Groves at Well-Known California Beach
A helicopter flying near a well-attended California shoreline abruptly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as onlookers looked on.
Videos posted on the internet capture the aircraft starting to spin over the shoreline then plunging towards the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm groves and a staircase near the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Information
Emergency responders said five individuals were taken to hospital comprising two who were in the helicopter and were “safely pulled from the wreckage” following the accident on Saturday.
Three individuals on the pavement were hurt. Information on their wounds were not yet released.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.
