Brooklyn Earick Rules Out Tottenham Hotspur Acquisition Offer After Approach
The long-serving executive directed Tottenham's transition to the state-of-the-art venue in 2019.
Innovative business leader Brooklyn Earick has dismissed submitting an official acquisition offer for the North London club.
Spurs had before “unequivocally rejected” an unofficial approach from a syndicate led by the American last period and maintained the club was not for sale.
Yet UK takeover and merger rules stipulated that, following an expression of interest turned down, Earick's consortium needed to make an offer by 24 October or declare they would not do so.
Verification of the determination was provided in a release released by Tottenham to the stock exchange, indicating the club is “not in an offer period.”
Earick published an snapshot of the statement on social media, remarking: “I've had a pleasure interacting with the club and the Lewis family's representatives over the past few months.
“I have deep admiration for the team, its leadership, and its supporters, and hope for continued achievements.”
Spurs' leadership acknowledged the consortium for its “constructive approach” in discussions and for “acknowledging the clear position” of the shareholders that the organization is not for sale.
Brooklyn Earick is a ex-disc jockey who also served in aerospace studies for NASA before creating his technology firm, which specializes in innovation, communications, sports and recreation.
Earick's proposal was the third inquiry turned down by the team's directors since the unexpected exit of long-serving chairman the former chairman in the fall.
On 8 September, the team rejected approaches from previous club stakeholder the financier's PCP International and a syndicate led by Kennedy and the co-investor through the holding company.
Daniel Levy and his relatives hold about 30% of Enic Sports & Developments Holdings Ltd – which has an majority stake in the club.
He was the Premier League's longest-serving chairman and is reported to have received more than £50m during his long tenure in the position.
Yet he was also the focus of frequent demonstrations by Spurs fans, particularly last season as domestic league results turned out disappointing.
Tottenham claimed their major honor in seventeen years when they overcame Manchester United in May's European final.
