Athletes crying as coach dies during game
Mladen Zizovic had just assumed leadership of his team just weeks ago
Athletes collapsed on the field in tears as they were informed of their coach's passing in the middle of a contest in the Serbian SuperLiga
FK Radnicki 1923 coach the 44-year-old suffered a collapse and received treatment beside the field before being rushed to a healthcare center during his team's match at Mladost Lucani on the start of the week
The Serbian SuperLiga match went on but was halted just prior to the interval when news of the coach's passing reached the venue
Video of the game showed athletes and staff from the competing clubs in grief at the tragic information
The ex- Bosnian international player, mid-forties, was recently selected head coach of his team on 23 October
"The team has suffered the loss of not only a great professional but above all a wonderful human being, a friend, and a competitor who, with his expertise, energy and character has left a deep mark on the emotions of all who had the privilege of meeting him"
The Bosnia and Herzegovina Football Association said its "soccer family has suffered the loss of another genuine soccer expert" with his death
"In the course of his extensive athletic journey, Zizovic played for multiple teams in the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially his former club, another team and Borac Banja Luka, and he furthermore played in the jersey of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team"
"Following the conclusion of his playing career, he dedicated himself to management, guiding organizations in the area and the region"
"The premature death signifies a great loss for the country's soccer"
"The dedication for soccer and the impact you left will be remembered by all for all time"
Leading clubs furthermore offered sympathies, including the famous club, who expressed their "deepest condolences"
